Bhut Jolokia or Naga Chilli

Bih jolokia, botanically known as Capsicum chinense Jacq. is extensively cultivated in North Eastern Region of India especially in the states of Assam, Nagaland and Manipur. It is also known by other names like Bhut jolokia, Borbih jolokia, Naga jolokia, Nagahari, Naga Morich, Raja mirchi etc.Due to its extra-ordinary pungency level, it is especially suitable for preparation of ‘oleoresin capsicum’ as well as extraction of capsaicin. Very high capsaicin output per unit weight of dry powder makes it possible to lower down the cost of extraction of capsaicin from Bih jolokia. Additionally, dark red skin also makes it a viable source for ‘oleoresin paprika’. Presently, we are marketing the following products:

Whole Dry Pods

(Smoked & Oven Dried)

Semidried whole pods, dried under controlled environment (oven dried) at 60 °C, stalked, contains about 6-8% moisture, processed from freshly picked pods from company farms cultivated in an almost chemical-free environment, no chemicals of any form added during processing. We also produce smoke dried pods.

Powder

(Smoked & Oven Dried)

Finely ground powder from dried pods of bih jolokia, processed from freshly picked pods from company farms cultivated in an almost chemical-free environment, no chemicals of any form added during processing.

flakes

(Smoked & Oven Dried)

Flakes are produced after drying de-stalked garden-fresh pods in electrically operated dryers. Final moisture content is 8-10%. Packed in polypropylene bags or metalised pouches of 500g and 1 kg capacity. Can be packed in pouches in varied capacities as per buyer’s requirement.

paste

Fine natural paste (without concentration) of the chilli is packed in 1 kg pouches. No chemicals are added.

maSh

The mash, containing salt develops a unique flavour after maturation following a specialized technique. The mash is packed in pouches or drums in varied capacities as per buyer’s requirement.
